How To Make Cannabis-Infused Coconut Oil

Making THC-infused coconut oil at home is easy and requires only a few materials/ingredients. Plus, with proper storage, you can make a big batch of it and extend your oil's shelf life for several months. Read our detailed step-by-step guide below, or enjoy a visual experience by watching our instructional video on creating cannabis-infused coconut oil that is perfect for makikng infused chocolate-covered strawberries or almost anything your heart desires!

  • 1 cup of ground cannabis nugs (approximately 7-10 grams)
  • 1 cup of coconut oil

  1. Start by gently grinding your nugs, ensuring they do not become a fine powder. You'll want to strain them from the final product later.
  2. Next, combine the coconut oil and cannabis in your double boiler. Maintain a low temperature for approximately 6 hours and keep the heat below 245°F to initiate the decarboxylation process.
  3. Once infused, strain out all the ground nugs and enjoy your homemade cannabis oil, perfect for making edibles for Valentine's Day. Store in a temperate and dry environment.

What Is the Best Oil to Use for Edibles?

When making any weed desserts, coconut oil is arguably the best option for cannabis infusion. Using coconut oil is more effective than regular butter because it has a super high-fat content, which is excellent for cannabinoid retention. It is also vegan, making it a more versatile option when baking for others. 1. Weed Chocolate Covered Strawberry Recipe with THC-Infused Chocolate

The ingredients to make chocolate covered strawberries are arranged on a pink background: a napkin, coconut oil, a plate a strawberries, and two Ooze prizms filled with white and dark chocolate chips

  • 1 Pound of Strawberries
  • 1 Cups of Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 Cup of White Chocolate Chips
  • Red Food Coloring
  • 1 tbsp. of Cannabis-Infused Coconut Oil

  • Double Boiler or Pot and a Glass Bowl
  • Parchment Paper or Foil
  • Spoon for decorating
  • Serving Dish

  1. Start by preparing a workspace with foil or wax paper for dipping strawberries.
  2. Then, set up your double boiler or a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water.
  3. Next, combine milk chocolate and cannabis-infused coconut oil in the bowl, stirring continuously until thoroughly melted and smooth, which will take about 5 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, melt the white chocolate using the same double boiler method, then add food coloring if desired and set it aside.
  5. Then go back to your workspace, grab a strawberry by its hull, and dip it into the cannabis chocolate. Make sure to coat only about 2/3 of the fruit's surface.
  6. Carefully place each dipped strawberry onto the prepared parchment paper, repeating the dipping process until all strawberries are coated.
  7. Then, allow the THC-infused chocolate-covered strawberries to cool for a minimum of 30 minutes before drizzling them with the pink-tinted white chocolate and serving!

What Is the Secret to Chocolate-Covered Strawberries?

The secret to a perfect weed chocolate-covered strawberry is quality ingredients and precise technique. Start with fresh, ripe strawberries that are completely dry before dipping to prevent the chocolate from becoming grainy. We also recommend using high-quality chocolate to achieve a glossy finish and premium flavor. Be patient and pay attention to detail during dipping, ensuring each strawberry is evenly coated and hardened. These little changes can make all the difference!

How Long Does It Take for Chocolate-Covered Strawberries to Harden?

The time it takes for infused chocolate strawberries to harden depends on the temperature and the type of chocolate used. We recommend waiting 30 minutes to an hour for the chocolate to set and harden fully. Just place your strawberries in the refrigerator for 15 to 30 minutes to speed up the process.

What Not to Do When Making Edible Chocolate-Covered Strawberries?

When making infused chocolate-covered strawberries, there are several things to avoid. Never dip wet strawberries into melted chocolate because the moisture can mess up the texture. We also recommend giving yourself ample room for your dipping station to avoid overcrowding the strawberries, which can cause them to clump together.

  • 8 ounces bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 4 tablespoons cannabis-infused coconut oil
  • 8 tablespoons regular coconut oil/ or butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Raspberries for garnish

  • Double Boiler
  • Ramekin
  • Baking Sheet
  • Electric Mixer/Whisk

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F. Generously grease six ramekins and arrange them on a baking sheet for easy handling.
  2. Now, set up a double boiler by filling a saucepan with water and bringing it to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  3. In the top bowl of the double boiler, combine 6 ounces of chocolate, regular coconut oil, and cannabis-infused coconut oil. Heat the mixture gently, stirring constantly, until fully melted and smooth, which will take about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, egg yolks, and sugar with an electric mixer or whisk until the mixture becomes thick and pale in color.
  5. Next, start to incorporate the flour into the egg mixture gradually, then carefully fold in the cannabis chocolate mixture until the batter is well combined.
  6. Divide half of the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chunks over the batter, then cover them with the remaining batter.
  7. Place the ramekins in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes until the edges are set but the center remains slightly jiggly.
  8. Once baked, remove the ramekins from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with whipped cream, fresh raspberries, or any topping you choose!

  • Double Boiler

  2. Then in a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with the cake crumbs, stirring or whisking until a doughy consistency forms.
  3. Shape the cake mixture into evenly sized balls, then carefully insert sticks into each ball and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Set aside.
  4. Create a double boiler by filling a saucepan with water and bringing it to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  5. Combine the chocolate and cannabis-infused coconut oil in the top bowl of the double boiler. Heat the mixture gently, stirring constantly, until it is fully melted and smooth, approximately 5 minutes.
  6. Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are evenly coated, and allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
