Hot Spoon – 400 mAh Electronic Dab Tool - Waves

Concentrates are known for being hard to handle, for a variety of reasons. We created the Hot Knife years ago to combat these problems, and we still love this tool. After years of use, we realized that the flat, angled tip of the Hot Knife wasn’t ideal for picking up big scoops of concentrate, and it was hard to handle the saucy stuff. The Hot Spoon was born to fill this gap.

The spoon tip is curved and has three distinct edges: a rounded side, a flat side, and the short end. The rounded side is great for scooping; you can mold the perfect dab like a chef rolling a beautifully smooth scoop of ice cream off the side of a spoon. The flat side is your knife edge; cut into harder slabs of concentrate and easily pick them up. Depending on the angle of the banger or bucket you’re loading, let the dab fall off the side or hold it straight and it can fall right off the short end. The spoon’s longer neck and the variety of edges make getting every last bit out of the jar a breeze.

For concentrates like sugar that are more dry, you probably don’t even need to heat the tip. The glossy finish lets the scoop slide right off. There is more ceramic to heat in the Hot Spoon than the Hot Knife, so if you’re used to the knife experience, the spoon takes a little longer to fully heat. The heat delivered to the tip is gradual and even, so don’t worry if the dab starts to melt while it’s still in the spoon. It’s not burning, and you’ll still have the same experience once it drips into your banger.

In the dabbing world, there are cold-start dabs and hot-start dabs. Cold-start means you put your dab in the banger before heating it up, where a hot-start dab goes into the banger after it’s been heated. We’re using this same idea with the Hot Spoon. A cold drop means you scoop up the extract, hold it over the bucket, and then hit the button to heat it up. A hot drop is initiated by clicking the button 2x, which delivers 5 seconds of 4.2V heat followed by 5 seconds of 3.0V to prevent burning. Each strain of wax is a different experience. Experiment with cold drops and hot drops to really get the hang of this device.

The Hot Spoon includes a 400 mAh battery that powers the device. Press the button 5x to turn it on and off. There are 4 voltage levels, click 3x to cycle through (2.4V, 3.0V, 3.6V, 4.2V), each level has a different color light around the button. The device has a soft-touche matte finish and a cap to cover the tip. There is a type-c charging port on the bottom, but this device does not include a charging cable. You can use a universal (usb-c) cord you already have at home.
