Ooze vape batteries feature adjustable temperature controls for a flavorful yet powerful hit every time. Since our pens allow you to vape both wax and oil, it’s important to know how the temperature settings affect your smoking experience. Wax and oil have varying consistencies, so the optimal temperature setting for a prefilled oil cartridge will be different for a dab.
To simplify these nuances, we’ve put together our tips for finding the best temperature for your vape sesh. Just follow the Ooze rule of thumb: use lower temperatures for oil, and crank up the heat for wax and thick concentrates.
For dabs, set your pen between 4.0V-4.3V.
To use your Ooze pen as a portable dab setup, grab an atomizer attachment or coil system like our Glass Globes. You can load your own concentrates in, and then screw the attachment right onto your Ooze pen.
Wax is typically thick, so it will take more heat to get it going. Once you load the dab in your attachment, set the voltage at 4.0V and run one cycle of the preheat mode. To activate the preheat cycle, double click the button and let go. The light on the button will pulse for 15 seconds as the battery gently and gradually heats the wax. Take a hit as soon as the light turns off and expect a big cloud with crystal clear terpene flavors.
If this doesn't seem to produce enough vapor, slowly turn up the temperature with each inhale until you are satisfied with the clouds. On the other hand, if your dab tastes burnt, dial it back a bit.
For oil, set your pen to 3.3V.
Prefilled 510 thread cartridges require lower temperatures because the material is thinner and easier to heat. We recommend starting at the lowest voltage, 3.3V, and moving up to 3.8V if it’s not giving you enough of a hit. Some oils have a thicker consistency, so just turn the dial incrementally until you get the desired hit. Overall, it's a good practice to keep your temperature at the lowest setting possible so you don’t burn the delicate coil on the bottom of the cartridge.
Regardless of your chosen material, keep the Ooze rule of thumb in mind when setting up your vape battery. Start low and work your way up if you need to. If you want to create a huge cloud for a video, you can crank the voltage all the way up, but just for a hit or two! Your battery will function optimally for much longer if your default temperature is as low as possible. Do it for the 'gram every once in a while, but don't make a habit out of super hot hits because it could hurt your pen’s (and your throat’s) longevity.
